
The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded. The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne".
The award-winning students received their prizes at a ceremony held at the Girne Municipality Council Meeting Hall, and certificates were presented to all participating students. The ceremony, attended by Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul and competition jury members, lasted approximately 1 hour. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, announced that all the works participating in the competition will be compiled and published as a digital booklet.
7 Schools Participated
A total of 37 students from 7 schools participated in the competition. The schools were Osman Nejat Konuk Middle School, Girne American College, Doğa College, Girne 19 May Turkish Maarif College, Dr. Suat Günsel Girne College, Lapta Yavuzlar High School, and Oğuz Veli Middle School.
Winners
Selena Doygün - First Prize (Dr. Suat Günsel Girne College), Azra Sayıalioğlu - Second Prize (Doğa College), Berre Minel Arslan - Third Prize (Girne American College), Akmaral Asylbekova - Special Prize (Osman Nejat Konuk Middle School).
The Jury
The jury members judging the competition entrants were as follows: Nesima Erşahin Habeş (Tourism Vocational High School), Beria Emirtaneoğluları (Osman Nejat Konuk Middle School), Zehra İpek (Girne American College), Alpin Şaşoğlu (Doğa College), Çiğdem Kutlu Güney (Girne 19 May Turkish Maarif College), Emine Gülköse (Dr. Suat Günsel Girne College).
