CyprusScene is moving upward again sharing your news and reviews

Hello to all our readers and followers and I would like to apologise that in recent weeks I have not been able to devote lots of time to publishing news and reviews on our website and have not been able to publish a regular weekly online e-newspaper as I have been spending lots of time dealing with the affairs of my late partner and dear friend Margaret Sheard who I miss so much.

She was of course a major part of CyprusScene and, it’s been a very difficult time for me without her, but my good friend HughJarss returns from holiday shortly and will pick up the task of helping me translate and publish very important Turkish language news which I have been trying to cope with and from time to time and he will also be publishing review articles as well.

I would like to welcome Melek Cella who hails from the UK and and has started publishing articles containing her food menus, poems and also she will have her Agony Aunt section as well.

For our football fans, we continue to publish football match reviews by Richard Beale and when I have time, I will be writing about my life-supporting archery hobby.

So we are picking up the threads again and if there are locals or worldwide followers who may like to join our volunteer team to help put Cyprusscene.com back where it belongs when sharing news and reviews from the TRNC with the World, do please drop me a line below.

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The award-winning students received their prizes at a ceremony held at the Girne Municipality Council Meeting Hall, and certificates were presented to all participating students. The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
