From Caz Franks…. Tatlisu……
Hi Chris, would you be able to help me by doing an article on " Construction workers walking on the roads at night who are in great danger"
I live in Tatlisu where there have been so many near misses as people tend to walk on the Esentepe/Tatlisu road in dark clothes and not holding torches or lamps.
I have written to all of the Construction companies nearby to ask them to assist in raising awareness of the danger and there is a marked improvement. But not enough!
Do walk onto incoming traffic with a torch on or a phone torch and wear a high vis vest. A decent and clean one if possible as one day an accident is going to occur on one of our roads.
This must be happening all over TRNC and someone is going to have a tragic accident and not only kill the people on the road but it will have a huge impact on their life as they may end up in prison and if not suffering depression for taking a life for the rest of their life!
Will you please help me?
Thank you
Caz
Editors Note: Even in towns where there is some lighting, people in dark-coloured clothing cross the roads and not bothering with zebra crossings, and add to that some rain and wet roads and a disaster is waiting to happen!
