"The Ghost of Shakespeare" Play Returns On January 26
The Girne Municipality Theatre Groups will make their final performance of "The Ghost of Shakespeare" on January 26th.  The Girne Municipality Theatre Groups has announced that the play prepared for ages 16 and above will be performed on January 26 at 20:30 at the Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre. It was announced that those who want to watch the play can purchase tickets from www.kibrisbiletcim.com.

The play, written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, features Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı in the cast. The lighting design is done by Mehmet Saygıer, and the set design belongs to Cem Taşlıovalı.

Plot of the Play

The play begins with a revenge-seeking king who encounters the ghost of Shakespeare. The king is insatiable in his desire for revenge. The king, greedy and willing to commit any evil to retain his throne, is aware of all the wrongs he has done and wants to take revenge on himself. However, the power bestowed upon him by the throne has also taken him captive. The king is unwilling to let go as if glued to his throne. While listening to the king's stories, the ghost of Shakespeare is busy writing an end for him in his own mind. The king's fate will be determined by his dark mind.

The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
