Girne Municipality at the EMITT Fair
Girne Municipality took part in the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair EMITT which was held in Istanbul.  EMITT is among the world's top five largest tourism fairs.  Participating for the second time this year, Girne Municipality Council Members Ziya Egemen Sencer and Mete Ünal Girgen, along with Girne Municipality Foreign Relations personnel Fatih Akyol, represented the City at the fair.

'Go To Kyrenia' Was Introduced

Unlike last year, our representatives are working on the 'Go To Kyrenia' project, which aims to promote small and medium-sized businesses in Girne city. As part of the project, footage for 'Go To Kyrenia' was shown to fairgoers on a giant screen.  The QR codes of businesses in Girne were distributed to many agencies and representatives.

The EMITT Fair, which hosts nearly 40,000 industry professionals every year, will end on Friday, February 9th.

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The award-winning students received their prizes at a ceremony held at the Girne Municipality Council Meeting Hall, and certificates were presented to all participating students. The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
