German Television Star Samples Turkish Cypriot Food
KURT KROMER,  the famous German Actor, Comedian and television star paid a visit to Northern Cyprus recently to sample some authentic Turkish Cypriot food.

He popped into Lefkosia in the middle of a whistle-stop country wide food exploration tour for the Amazon Prime Documentary series “The Dinner Club”. Which will be aired in December.

He had already visited France, Italy, Switzerland and Mexico and following his visit to Cyprus is   off to Scotland to sample some Haggis, Tatties and Neeps.

A production crew of 15 from the German television company, Endermol Shine Group crossed the border from the South to be met by Peter Wills from North Cyprus Film Productions who   facilitated the visit.

Wandering through the streets of old Lefkosia, Kromer first stopped off at the Buyuk Han, spoke with shop and restaurant owners before avidly watching some locals playing Backgammon , a visit to the Gamblers Inn then alongside the Grand Mosque, sadly covered in Scaffolding and metal hoarding, and into the courtyard of The Saraba Restaurant  where he sampled some authentic Turkish Cypriot food.  He said it was extremely tasty!

Filming continues in various countries until the end of March then the process of editing and post production continues.

Peter Wills said he was delighted to welcome both Kurt and the German production crew to the TRNC and this was another step forward in gaining recognition for North Cyprus.  The company vowed to return at a later date to take in more locations for a travel documentary
