A.I. Initiative From World Peace University
The Artificial Intelligence Research and Application Centre at World Peace University is now operational using high-performance computers.  World Peace University continues its Artificial Intelligence studies, one of today's most important technologies. For this purpose, the Artificial Intelligence Research and Application Centre has been launched.  A high-performance computer laboratory has been established to conduct high-quality academic studies.

The Centre, chaired by Associate Professor. Dr. Boran Şekeroğlu and Assistant Professor Dr. Selin Koçyiğit, aims to contribute to academic studies in fields such as machine learning, computer vision, deep learning, and swarm intelligence, as well as to transform these studies into applications for the benefit of the public. With a laboratory consisting of eight desktop computers, including the market's most powerful graphics processing units,  World Peace University will contribute to scientific products that both the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the world will benefit from, in line with the university's vision.

Associate Professor Dr. Behiye Çavuşoğlu, Acting Rector of World Peace University, emphasised that they have launched the Artificial Intelligence Research and Application Centre with a unique laboratory among TRNC universities in order to contribute to and lead the evolving artificial intelligence technologies. Çavuşoğlu indicated that the Centre and laboratory's activities will make a difference soon and that the Centre will also contribute to open seminars and training sessions, welcoming external researchers.

About World Peace University

World Peace University commenced its educational activities under the auspices of Altınbaş Holding in February 2023. It was established as the 22nd university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Sofu Altınbaş, World Peace University has been launched with the slogan "The University Provides a Peaceful Education Environment." Aiming to be a fifth-generation university, World Peace University brings together international students and a faculty to provide a research-based educational environment.

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
