
The International Olive Humour Festival and the 13th International Cartoon Competition, which will be organized as part of the 23rd International Olive Festival by Girne Municipality and the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists Association, have started accepting works. The deadline for amateur or professional cartoonists over the age of 18 to participate in the competition was announced as May 31, 2024.
According to the information provided by the Girne Municipality Cultural Affairs Branch, those who wish to participate in the competition can send their works by regular or insured mail to the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists Association, 13th International Cartoon Competition, PO Box: 455 (Postal Code: 99000), Nicosia - Northern Cyprus address. The announcement also mentioned that those interested in obtaining information about the competition can apply to www.zeytinkarikaturleri.com.

About The Competition
Since 2007, a total of 3,576 cartoonists from 95 countries on 6 continents have participated in the International Cartoon Competition with a total of 8,842 works. More than 70 cartoonists have served as members of the International Selection Committee. More than 80 foreign and domestic cartoonists/artists have been hosted at the International Cartoon Competition and Golden Olive Humour Service Awards ceremonies.
Within this framework, the cartoons sent to the International Cartoon Competition, those that have won awards, and those deemed worthy of exhibition have been compiled into books. A total of 12 cartoon albums have been published between 2008 and 2024.
Between 2008 and 2023; 25 International Olive Cartoon Exhibitions were held simultaneously in the city of Girne and the village of Zeytinlik, 3 in Turkey, 1 in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, and 1 in Pristina, Kosovo.
