
The resistance fighters and the martyrs who fell in the resistance in Limassol between February 10th and 13th, 1964, were commemorated with the 60th-anniversary ceremony held at the Limassol-Kyrenia Martyrs and Freedom Monument. The ceremony, which started at 10:00 at the Limassol-Kyrenia Martyrs and Freedom Monument. President Ersin Tatar was represented by the Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre.
Others attending included Girne District Governor Cemal Özcemoğlu, Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul, senior management of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces and Security Forces Command, members of the TMT Veterans Association, and representatives of civil institutions and organizations.
The ceremony, which began with a moment of silence followed by the singing of the National Anthem, continued with speeches by Erbil Aydınova, the President of the TMT Veterans Association Girne Branch, and Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre, following the laying of wreaths.
The ceremony, where poems were recited by Berre Arslan and Sarp İmamzade, students of Girne American College, ended with the closing speech.
