Girne Mayor Visits Girne 18+ Disabled Rehabilitation Centre
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul, together with his wife Songül Şenkul, visited the 'Girne 18+ Disabled Rehabilitation Centre' as part of the '21st March World Down Syndrome Awareness Day'. Following the visit, they attended an event, held at Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School, in which students from the 'Girne Under 18 Disabled Rehabilitation Centre' participated. During the event, Şenkul spent time with the students.

Birthday Surprise

During their visit to the Rehabilitation Centre, Şenkul and his wife chatted with the students who did not forget to celebrate Şenkul's birthday. Other students, who were participating in an extracurricular activity marking the '21st March World Down Syndrome Awareness Day', celebrated Şenkul's birthday via a video call.

Joyful Event at Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School

After the visit to the Disabled Rehabilitation Centre, Şenkul attended an event at Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School, in which students from the Rehabilitation Centre also participated. The colourful event featured students displaying beautiful images.

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
