ARUCAD Held Spring Festivals on 15-16-17 May 2024
Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) Spring Festival started on Wednesday, May 15, with student exhibitions, various workshops, DJ performances, and concerts.

On Wednesday 15th May of the ARUCAD Spring Festival, the Poster Design Competition continued with the exhibitions of the Sound Arts Design Department students and the Upcycling Workshop. The first day ended with the performances of DJ Zech and Music Group Tesadüf.

On Thursday, May 16, the University hosted performances of Modern Dance Department students, a yoga workshop, sports tournaments, the "Decide Band" group consisting of young musicians and the "Academia" group consisting of academics.

ARUCAD Spring Festival is scheduled to end on Friday, 17th May, with award-winning competitions, the performance of the music group Living Coil and the famous Cypriot DJ Mr Joker.

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
