MAY 19th EXCITEMENT EXPERIENCED IN İSKELE
The May 19th, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, which we celebrate together with our motherland, the Republic of Turkey, and which is one of our official holidays, was celebrated today with ceremonies across the island.

WE REMEMBER OUR FATHER WITH RESPECT AND SALUTE OUR YOUTH WITH LOVE

This special day, where we commemorate our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with respect, longing and gratitude, and greet the young people with love, is the 105th anniversary of the day when the Turkish War of Independence began and when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk landed in Samsun with the Bandırma Ferry.

The permanent address of the ceremonies in Iskele, where the spirit of May 19 dominated days before, was undoubtedly Ata's peace, the Ataturk Monument.

THE CELEBRATIONS IN ISKELE

19th May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated with a ceremony in Iskele as well as throughout the island. The ceremony, which started with the Bekirpaşa High School Band arriving in front of the Atatürk Monument, was followed by the presentation of wreaths to the monument, a moment of silence, and the raising of the flags accompanied by the National Anthem.

The ceremonies in Iskele were attended by Iskele District Governor Ertuğrul Toroslu, Iskele Municipality Deputy Mayor Halil Dericioğlu, Air Defense Major Emre Sümer on behalf of KTBK, Training Center Commander Infantry Major Hüseyin Yayık on behalf of GKK, Iskele Police Chief Gökay Karagil, Civil Defense Organization Presidency Iskele Regional Manager Cemal Betmezoğlu.

Many students and their families attended, along with political party representatives, schools, institutions and associations.

MAY 19thy EXCITEMENT EXPERIENCED IN İSKELE

The speech indicating the meaning and importance of the day was made by İskele Bekirpaşa High School History Teacher Emren Bitirim, and a poem titled 'He is Coming' was given by İskele Commerce High School Student Havin Ceylan, 'Atatürk's Address to the Youth' at the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day ceremony in İskele. Bekirpaşa High School Student Arda Turan Kaya, the 'Oath of Youth' was read by İskele Evkaf TMK Student Tülay Seferi, and the poem titled '19 May' was read by İskele Evkaf TMK Student Süreyya Saygı Sönmez.

The official ceremony in İskele ended with the performance of İskele Municipality Yıldızlar Folk Dance Group.
