The 'Sokan Fish Catching Competition' Prize Haul
Sponsored by the Girne Municipality and hosted by the Karaoğlanoğlu Hunting, Shooting, and Fishing Association, the 'Sokan Fish Catching Competition' took place on Sunday, June 9th at the Karaoğlanoğlu Fishermen’s Shelter. The competition, held in two categories—licensed and individual teams—saw the participation of around 100 people. It began at 5:30 AM and concluded with an award ceremony at 12:00 PM.

At the end of the competition, which was part of the annual activity program of the TRNC Hunting Federation, the awards were presented by Independent MP Jale Refik Rogers, Girne Municipality Council Member and Deputy Mayor Haşim Yücel, UBP Kyrenia District Vice President İbrahim Akay, TRNC Hunting Federation President Osman Cook, Karaoğlanoğlu Hunting and Shooting Association President Sait Faraç, Gazimağusa Hunting and Shooting Union President Hasan Curcioğlu, Alsancak Hunting and Shooting Union President Sonay Akgüney, and Young Lapta Hunting and Shooting Association President Selim Mavili.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
