"THE MOST EFFICIENT WATER SOURCE EVER DISCOVERED"
As a result of the water source exploration activities carried out by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, Geology and Mining Department on the Çatalköy slopes of the Beşparmak Mountains for about a month, the richest water source discovered in the history of the TRNC has been reached.
The water source, which has a water capacity of 80 tons per hour with safe drafting, has been restored to history as the most efficient water well ever dug in the Çatalköy part of the Kyrenia Mountain Range Aquifer, as a result of the devoted work carried out by the engineers and technical personnel of the Geology and Mining Department under the chairmanship of Geological Engineer Oğuz Vadilili, Deputy Chief of the Geology and Mining Branch, Geological Engineer Oğuz Vadilili, Deputy Chief of the Drilling Branch of the Geology and Mining Department, and Geological Engineer Salih Erşangil, Deputy Chief of the Geology and Mining Branch has passed.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu visited the region to examine the rich water resource obtained on site and to congratulate the staff for their devoted work and received information about the well.
Ataoğlu was accompanied by Ayşen Albayrak, Deputy Prime Minister and director of the Geology and Mining Department of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment.
In his statement here, Ataoğlu stated that after 7 years, a water source with a capacity of up to 80 tons per hour was reached by the Geology and Mining Department, which was realized by its own means, and that this is the richest water source discovered in the history of the TRNC.
Ataoğlu stated that with the water source with a depth of 168 meters and a water capacity of 80 tons per hour, Çatalköy and the surrounding villages will be relieved to a great extent and that the next step is the Lapta region, where studies have been started, and their goal is to reach a similar source in the Lapta region.
Ataoğlu also stated that the results of the analysis of the discovered water will be made quickly and shared with the public.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu thanked the staff of the Department of Geology and Mining for their uninterrupted and devoted work and underlined that they deserve to be thanked for their efforts and success.
