Girne Mayor Şenkul Meets Mayor of Istanbul.

The Mayor of Girne, Murat Şenkul, met the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu. The meeting, which took place at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on Monday, July 22nd, included Girne Municipal Council Members Ali Tektan, Burak Güler, and Hüseyin Çakır. Regarding the meeting, Şenkul made a statement on his social media account.

"We had a very productive meeting today with Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The agenda of our meeting with our Municipal Council Members was focused on Girne. During our conversation, Ekrem Mayor clearly expressed his interest in the important issues that were brought up, demonstrating his affection for Girne like us. I thank him very much on behalf of our city for his interest and attention shown to us and our city."

The "I Imagine a More Livable Girne" short story competition, organized for the sixth time this year under the leadership of Girne Municipality, has concluded.  The competition, which is a traditional event for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and held for the sixth time this year, had as its theme "I Imagine a More Livable Girne". The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
