Starting his speech by expressing his mercy and respect for the Topçuköy martyrs and reminding them that much suffering was experienced and martyrs were given on the island before 1974, President Ersin Tatar emphasized that the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot People to protect their rights, law and independence in these lands is also respected in the world. Tatar, who said that the federation book is now closed, as President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the July 20 ceremonies, reiterated that if there will be an agreement in Cyprus, it should be based on two sovereign and equal states, and said, “Returning to pre-1974 is suicide for us” and that this means betraying the martyrs. President Tatar, who stated that the peace that came to the Island 50 years ago continued with the guarantorship of the Turkish military, said, “No matter what the world says, we will never give up on Turkey’s guarantorship.” President Tatar emphasized that they will never compromise on Turkey’s effective and actual guarantorship, and added that the Turkish military is the guarantor of peace and security on the Island.

SADIKOĞLU: “MAY GOD BLESS US ALL TO LIVE IN PEACE UNDER OUR CRESCENT-STAR FLAG”

Speaking at the commemoration ceremony held at the Topçuköy Martyrdom, İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu began his speech by commemorating the martyrs who had the greatest share in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Happy Peace Operation and who presented July 20, the symbol of the independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people, to the Turkish Cypriot people. Expressing that he experienced both sadness and pride in being in the presence of the martyrs at the commemoration ceremony at the Topçuköy Martyrdom, Sadıkoğlu continued his speech as follows: “Half a century.

It is easy to say, but the accounting of the 50 years that have passed is very difficult and heavy, especially for our martyrs’ families. The cruelty and inhuman treatment endured from 1878 to 1974 will not be forgotten, no matter how many years pass. However, the Turkish Cypriot People neither forget their past nor lose their faith in the future. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is advancing with more determined, stronger and more confident steps every day than yesterday, will live forever. May God grant us all the opportunity to live in peace under the shadow of our crescent and star flag.”

At the end of his speech, President Sadıkoğlu expressed his support and gratitude to the Motherland Republic of Turkey, which they always felt as close as a breath, and commemorated the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, our Community Leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük, our Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş, and all the martyrs in the presence of the Topçuköy Martyrs with mercy and gratitude.
