Smell the Coffee at Gloria Jean in Kordonboyu Buffet

As part of the Girne Municipality's Kordonboyu Project, the 'Kordonboyu Buffet Rental Tender' published on July 22 has concluded. Following the evaluation by the Girne Municipality Tender Committee, the tender was awarded to Beset Trading Ltd., a franchisee of Gloria Jean's Coffees. The formalization process of the tender was completed with a signing ceremony held on Friday, August 23, in the Girne Municipality Council Meeting Hall.

The ceremony was attended by Girne Municipality Mayor Murat Şenkul, Council Members Ali Tektan, Mete Ünal Girgen, and Ziya Egemen Sencer on behalf of the municipality, and Director Mustafa Kuman from Beset Trading Ltd. and Board Member Vedat Akdeniz from Kaner Group Gloria Jean's Coffees on behalf of the company.

International Branding Important

Starting his speech by addressing the significant lack of international brands in our country, Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul emphasized his satisfaction of having an international brand like Gloria Jean's Coffees establish a presence in Kordonboyu. Şenkul noted that although Beset Trading Ltd., which houses the Gloria Jean's Coffees brand, was not the highest bidder, the Tender Committee considered brand strength and resources in their decision-making process.

Şenkul highlighted that despite the Kordonboyu Project not being fully completed, it already attracts a large number of visitors. He expressed confidence that the project’s completion and the commencement of services by Gloria Jean's Coffees in the area would create a synergistic effect. Şenkul thanked Vedat Akdeniz, Board Member of Kaner Group Gloria Jean’s Coffees, and Mustafa Kuman, Director of Beset Trading Ltd., in this context.

Kuman: “We Are Honoured and Happy to Be Part of Such A Project”

Beset Trading Ltd. Director Mustafa Kuman started his speech by thanking Mayor Murat Şenkul and the Girne Municipality Council Members, stating that they are honored and happy to be part of such a project.

Akdeniz: “We Will Always Support Such Projects”

Kaner Group Gloria Jean’s Coffees Board Member Vedat Akdeniz expressed their happiness and pride at opening their 18th store in Kordonboyu, Girne, after serving as a leader in the sector for 17 years. Akdeniz thanked President Şenkul and his team for restoring Kordonboyu, a place from their childhood, and expressed belief that many similar visionary projects will be realized in Girne. He stated that they will always support such projects.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm.
