The TRNC Flag Flew In North Macedonia

Despite the embargo imposed on our country, the İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, which continues its work meticulously within the body of İskele Municipality, which has succeeded in waving our flag in the international arena, continues to proudly wave our country's flag in every event it attends.

The team, which made significant contributions to the promotion of the country in the international arena, waved the TRNC flag in North Macedonia this time. This year is the 18th. The team, which participated in the 18th SKUPI International Folklore Festival, managed to get full marks from the audience with their folk dance performances, which are an important part of Cypriot culture. İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, which took part in the festival under the direction of Özlem Kadirağa and instructor Gülgün Dargın, was accompanied by İskele Municipality Vice Mayor Halil Dericioğlu and Council Members Ahmet Orun, Eray Göksan and Seymen Yılmaz. The delegation was also hosted by the Speaker of the Parliament Afrim Gashi at the Parliament of North Macedonia.

İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, which promotes İskele in particular and the TRNC in general on every platform it attends, and proudly waves our crescent and star flag in the international arena, participated in the SKUPI International Folklore Festival, which was held for the 18th time this year between 12-17 August, North Macedonia. Iskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, which represents the TRNC in general and İskele in particular, became the center of attention of the people of North Macedonia and the teams from Turkey, Mexico, Romania, Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia participating in the festival and received great appreciation.

Folk Dance Team And Members Of Parliament Were Hosted At The North Macedonia Parliament

Iskele Municipality Vice Mayor Halil Dericioğlu and Council Members Ahmet Orun, Eray Göksan and Seymen Yılmaz, who participated in the SKUPI International Folklore Festival on behalf of İskele Municipality and accompanied the İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, also made various contacts in North Macedonia. The delegation included the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia Afrim Gashi, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of North Macedonia Sedat Sulejmani, the Mayor of Zhelina Blerim Sejdiu, the Mayor of Stüdeniçan Azem Sadiki and the Mayor of Çair. He was entertained by Visar Ganiu in his offices. The delegation also presented the gifts of Cypriot Culture on behalf of the Mayor of İskele Hasan Sadıkoğlu during their visit.

 Returning from North Macedonia, where they went to participate in the 18th SKUPI International Folklore Festival, İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble Director Özlem Kadirağa said in her statement on the subject that despite all the obstruction and exclusion attempts of the Greek Cypriot side and Greece, they were announced as Northern Cyprus during the festival and proudly waved the TRNC Flag.

Expressing their happiness to participate in the festival, which is shown as one of the most important festivals in the world, he noted that it is a source of pride for them to promote the TRNC in North Macedonia and make its name known. At the end of her statement, Özlem Kadirağa thanked İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu and council members who have always been with them, believed in them and supported them.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm.
