Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu started his consultation visits to small-scale hotels across the TRNC by visiting hotels in the Lapta region.

During his visits to some small-scale hotels in the Lapta region, Ataoğlu started a visit with business owners to discuss the Ministry's support package, which will cover only small-scale hotels without casinos, and to get the opinions of business owners about the content of the package.

He was accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry Serhan Aktunç and the Director of the Tourism Planning Department Mazlum Kortaş, Minister Ataoğlu was also accompanied by an exchange of views on the support program planned for small hotels.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that the visits they started to get first-hand information about the needs, needs, and deficiencies of small-scale hotels in order to determine the content and scope of the support program planned for 2025, which will cover small-scale hotels, will continue for all small-scale hotels across the country.

Ataoğlu stated that the data collected as a result of the meetings to be held will be evaluated within the Ministry and a support package will be prepared in which the views of both sides will be blended.

He also stated that the aim of the support package to be prepared is to contribute to the increase of the diversity of tourists who will provide added value to the country's economy by encouraging small-scale hotels, who can travel, use the market, use rental car services and restaurants.

THE BIGGEST FACTOR THAT TRIGGERS HIGH COST IS ELECTRICITY COSTS!

During his visit to some hotels in the Lapta region, where he made the first of his visits to small-scale hotels across the country with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and the accompanying delegation, Ataoğlu also conveyed his observations that the problems of hotel operators are almost common and stated that the most important cost that triggers the high cost is electricity.

Ataoğlu also stated that in addition to this, the high flight ticket prices negatively affect the country's tourism.

He also stated that the consultation visits initiated for small-scale hotels across the country will continue and in the light of the data obtained, they will prepare a support package in consultation with the Ministry and the Turkish Cypriot Hoteliers Association.
