Güzelyali-Sadrazamköy Road Will Be Renewed

Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı and Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye Yasin Ekrem Serim visited Kayalar and Sadrazamköy and met with citizens.

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Yasin Ekrem Serim, in his speech during the village visits, stated that the 16km road from Güzelyalı to Sadrazamköy will be built by the Republic of Türkiye.

Güzelyali-Sadrazamköy Road Will Be Renewed

Ambassador Serim stated that the Republic of Türkiye has approved this project with all its authorities and stated that after the expropriation issue is resolved, road renovation works will be started and the road will be put into full-fledged service in September 2025.

Serim said, "Our precious time and financial resources are wasted, especially due to the fact that road projects are left unfinished due to expropriation problems and cannot be completed for a long time. For this reason, from now on, work will not start until the expropriation procedures related to the projects are completed."

Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı stated that a resource of 20 million TL was allocated from the budget for the maintenance and repair of the road and said, "Mr. Ambassador said that a road could not be built with this allocated resource and proposed to undertake the construction and cost of the road. We gladly agreed."

Republic of Türkiye to cover the cost

Arıklı stated that most of the TRNC highways were built by Türkiye in accordance with the protocol signed with the Republic of Türkiye and that some roads that were not included in the protocol were built by allocating resources from the local budget.

He also added that they have carried out a series of studies for the reconstruction of the TRNC Highways Department and thanked Ambassador Serim for his interest in the Kayalar-Sadrazamköy village roads.

The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm.
