Iskele Represented The TRNC In Silifke

İskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble as well as İskele Municipality Stars Folk Dance Ensemble continue to represent our country on the international platform successfully.

Participating in the 51st International Silifke Music and Folklore Festival held in Silifke District of Mersin, Turkey between August 31 and September 7, İskele Municipality Yıldızlar Folk Dance Ensemble managed to get full marks from the audience with its stage performance. The team, accompanied by Iskele Municipality Deputy Mayor Sefa Kurukafa and Assembly Members Eray Göksan and Kubilay Aşık, conveyed the greetings and love of the people of İskele in particular and the TRNC in general during their official visits to Mersin and Silifke.

IB YILDIZLAR HD ENSEMBLE PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

The Stars Folk Dance Team, an integral part of the Iskele Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble, continues to proudly wave the star-spangled flag in the international arena as well as our country, as well as the Motherland Republic of Turkey and continues to successfully represent our country.

Under the leadership of İskele Municipality Culture, Art and Foreign Relations Consultant and IM Folk Dance Ensemble Director Özlem Kadirağa, the Yıldızlar Folk Dance Ensemble, under the instructorship of Gülgün Dargın, successfully introduced folk dances, which are the most important part of Cypriot Culture, in Silifke District of Mersin, where they went upon the invitation they received. The team, which participated in the 51st International Silifke Music and Folklore Festival, received great acclaim with the plays they brought to the stage and received full marks from the audience.

OFFICIAL CONTACTS MADE WITH MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT MADE IN MERSIN AND SILIKKE

İskele Municipality Deputy Mayor Sefa Kurukafa, Council Members Eray Göksan and Kubilay Aşık and İB Folk Dance Ensemble Director Özlem Kadirağa also made official contacts in Mersin and Silifke, where they went within the scope of the festival. The first stop of the team was the festival host Silifke Mayor Mustafa Turgut.

The team also visited Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, Mersin Yenişehir Municipality Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit, TRNC Mersin Consul General Özgür Ezel, Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Silifke District Governor Abdullah Aslaner.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
