 Members of the committees of the BRS (British Residents Society) and TFR (The Foreign Residents in the TRNC) - had a successful meeting...

The main topic was to coordinate and join forces in our meetings with the Ministries of the TRNC.

With the background of the latest changes to the property law and open questions about the residency process (which now includes the exemption regulation for over 60s), amongst other issues, it was agreed that it makes sense to coordinate our activities because we are literally singing from the same hymn sheet.

It will also ease the way to get meetings with the different Ministers and their staff when they know that the 2 biggest associations for foreigners in the TRNC are working together.

This is not a merger of both societies, but the start of a process of working together...

I personally would like to thank Pete Wilkins (BRS President) for always working genuinely together with me and making this meeting happen.

Horst Gutowski (TFR Chairman), Julian Mawdesley (BRS Chairman), Caroline Houghton (TFR Deputy Chair), Hakan Redif (BRS Government Liaison) and me  Ralph Kratzer (TFR Information and Internet Officer).

I hope this will help get problems sorted with the TRNC government in the interest of all foreign residents living in the TRNC.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
