Girne ‘Expression of Children’s Rights through Art’ event


Girne Municipality Social Affairs Branch organized an event titled ‘Expression of Children’s Rights through Art’ on Wednesday, November 20th at 15:00 pm.


The event, aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 10, was held at the Girne Municipality Social Life Center (Old Girne Municipality Building).

The events, which were held with the participation of approximately 35 children and run by Nevin Halis and Eliz Beyaz, lasted approximately 2 hours. Three different art workshops were presented as part of the event: ‘Creative Fairy Tale Workshop’, ‘Painting Workshop’ and ‘Ceramics Workshop’.

The Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality will perform "Shakespeare's Ghost" again, this time in Lefkosa. The play, which has received intense interest from the audience since its first performance, will be staged at Lefkosa Atatürk Cultural Centre on Thursday, April 18th, at 20:30. In the announcement made by the Theatre Groups of Girne Municipality, it was mentioned that art enthusiasts who want to watch the play can obtain their tickets from the website www.kibrisbiletcim.com. Written by Ufuk Aydoğan and directed by Batuhan Oruç, the cast of the play includes Kıvanç Giritli, Ömer Dündar, Fatima Saatova, and Shernaz Yardımcı. The play "Crocodile Fire" will be performed in Girne on 26th and 27th April. The Turkish actress, Hazar Ergüçlü, is in the starring  role. She is famous in Turkey for her part in the series titled "Pearl Drops."  The play is sponsored by Girne Municipality and Birinci Global in collaboration with Kamacı Group, Özmerhan Group, Rocks Hotel, Uptown Hotel, and Girne American University.  The play will be performed at Girne American University Spectrum Hall, starting at 20:00 pm. Girne Municipality, Social Affairs Branch Directorate, has announced that half of the revenue from the play will be donated to the Champion Angels Foundation, and the other half will be donated to Girne Municipality Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Centre.
