So who is Roland Eyerich and what does he do in Cyprus?


He is a Radio DJ – Promoter, Organizer and Music Global Networker in Cyprus.


Roland had an 8 Year Blues and Rock Show for Bayrak International Radio (Turkish Republic of Northern


Cyprus) and nearly 1 year “Keep The Blues Rock Alive” Show for Old Town Radio – Nicosia (Cyprus).

In addition to many highlights in his social commitment such as Friends Across Borders Festivals in 2018 and 2019 with Alper Cengiz from Soulist for the Tulips Cancer Association, the organisational highlight of last year was the MAD MAX Legacy concert with the 1st German rock band performed in the TRNC (K.K.T.C) at the open air concert in front of the Soulist Coffee and Music House. Organised as a charity concert for the Champion Angels Association (Famagusta). After 2 years of preparation, there was then an overwhelming concert on 19th of  October where the hearts of the people were reached.

 Roland Eyerich is from Koblenz in Germany and after he retired, studied Social Science, Social pedagogy and Social Work. Now here in Cyprus, ROLAND tries to help and support younger generations to develop skills and create for themselves a better future. For this, he brings up his big passion for music from Blues, BluesRock up to Rock. So always on the Friends Across Borders Festivals there was on 1 day a „Young Stage“ included.


His plans for the future is to organise with local musicians „A Workshop for young musicians “ at the Soulist Coffee and Music House in Alsancak…His wish is to encourage the interest of young musicians in this new Project.


Young talent need to be given a stage where they can form a band, write their own songs, perform their own music, and also be able to develop  their skills. This is a special challenge in the TRNC.

For this to be realised, the young musicians interested will have to contact the ‘Soulist Coffee and Music House’ and if there is enough interest, a ‘Youth Music Workshop’ will then be organised.


Roland has been visiting the TRNC with his wife for a number of years to stay now in Germany and at their home in Lapta as well. He visited also Parts of the Republic of Cyprus. So he brought his passion into his life with "music" and started as a global music networker from Cyprus with his Blues & Rock Shows at BAYRAK International.

Since the 1st of January 2017 he is a on Air on Bayrak International Radio in German language with his Blues & Rock“ Show. Every Sunday evening from 10 pm to 11pm the “Blues & Rock Show with Roland”. It`s an international Radio Show. Repeating every Wednesday same time. In January it is the 8th Birthday of the Blues & Rock Show which has been an incredible 8 Years of the Blues & Rock Show with Roland.

From 13th of July 2020 up to the 30th of December 2023 he was Programme Maker and Radio DJ also on Hoex Radio , The Dutch Rock Station (Netherlands) with his 2 hours unique "Keep The Blues Rock Alive (KTBRA)" Show .


Since 16th of February 2024 he has been presenting his unique "Keep The Blues Rock Alive (KTBRA)" Show from the Republic of Cyprus as well at the "Old Town Radio Station" in Nicosia (in English Language). https://oldtownradio.net/ and is special is that every show presented is available on M-XCloud Old Town Radio after the show https://www.mixcloud.com/oldtownradio/


The ingredients for KTBRA are always current music in Blues, BluesRock and Rock and sophisticated playlists for every show (with more than 30 labels and promoters worldwide supporting him).


Roland's KTBRA was in German and will be also now presented in the English language, but he combines this with his passion for music, of which he says: "my intention is to bring people together regardless of nationality, skin colour, religion or age. Music is one of the instruments to make people happy and peaceful”. The radio show is not enough for him, so he sometimes organises bands and musicians for the unique Music live Venue " at the Soulist Coffee & Music House" in Alsancak/Karavas.

Roland also founded a new project called "Friends Across Borders (FAB)" – which was a 3-days Festival in Cyprus. The Motto/Theme is "Music and Cancer have no boundaries". He build the Team with the owner of The Soulist and professional musician: Alper Cengiz. Musicians from both sides of Cyprus came together on one stage in North Cyprus. Always for a good cause – for the Cancer Association TULIPS!!


The idea behind this festival was to promote above all young artists and to further the "European concept" by overcoming mental borders. To be free of prejudices and characterised by mutual respect without fear. The 2nd time this FAB-Festival was on air from the 27th to 29th of September 2019 at The Soulist – Coffee & Music House with 70 musicians from both sides of Cyprus. Always with a "Young Stage" with young musicians and there were 2 FAB concerts in 2018 and 2019.

During the pandemic everything stopped and this event was no longer possible, but there was still a donation handed over for the Tulips Cancer Association at The Soulist“ continuing with the Rock Night on Friday the 11th of November 2022 with the Bands, the local Band Mental Soup  and Private Garden from Nicosia/Limassol


Finally with his new Radio Station Old Town Radio and his Show “Keep The Blues Rock Alive“ coming up now from Nicosia Cyprus he can support more musicians and Bands from both sides of the island – he following his passion for music by finding partners for this idea and supporting him with the “Keep The Blues Rock Alive Show“ and music scene in Cyprus and for now, it`s The Soulist Coffee and Music House in Alsancak and Maxil Stage Bar in Nicosia.


On 28th of December, he started a new format at Maxil Stage Bar the place for Rock and Metal Music in Lefkoşa. The opening act, and supporting act was also a Radio Show for a music live Event. The reason is that he also promoted the upcoming band that night in his show. So 27th of December he presented the “Best of KTBRA in Rock 2024“ including. the local band, "Hammer Stone” in his KTBRA show on Old Town Radio with their new single „No One“

So the introducing part for Hammer Stone was also included in his radio show after the band Trucker Diablo in Roland`s show the introducing when Roland entered the Maxil Stage and presented Hammer Stone.
