The Bellapais Project Is Nearly Finished
The Bellapais Project, implemented by the Girne Municipality, continues without slowing down. The project, which includes 'Underground Girne Beylerbeyi Village Electricity Network and Environmental Lighting', 'Rainwater Drainage Line', 'Renewal of Drinking Water Pipes', 'Renewal of Telephone Lines' and 'Roadworks', is approaching the end with the intensive work of the teams.
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul made a statement about the project, which started in December and is planned to be completed in a short period of 2 months. In his statement, Şenkul emphasized that they entered a region that was left neglected for years, and without any hesitation, saying "What if?", and stated that they aim to complete the Bellapais Project in a short time.
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul's statement:
"The village square, which is free of signs, gazebos, intricate flower beds, and it made the already magnificent Bellapais Abbey stand out even more in our opinion.
With the addition of urban furniture and the planting of flowers in the area created around our 2 large trees, the square section will be ready to welcome us. The groundwork of the entrance road to the village is starting and we are rapidly approaching the end of the project. As in every project, there may be deficiencies, mistakes, and points that we do not like in our Bellapais project, but under difficult conditions, we both renewed the entire infrastructure and placed it underground in a short time.
In addition, we have transformed undefined areas for public use, demolished illegal structures, and renovated neglected sections. We have entered an area that has been neglected for years, without any hesitation, without saying "What if?", we are doing it and we will put it to good use in a short time. We will continue to talk less and do a lot of work because while we are busy working, many speak for us."
